Leinster Nickel Operations

Project Description

Comiskey’s, a leading construction and infrastructure solutions provider, was entrusted by QDC to execute a critical project involving the removal and replacement of concrete structures beneath existing silos during the client’s planned shutdown

Scope of Works

Our scope of work encompassed the following key activities: Demolition of Existing Concrete Weighbridge: We efficiently dismantled the existing concrete weighbridge. Surface Preparation: Comiskey’s undertook the supply and installation of sand screed and road base to prepare the surface for further construction. Installation of Precast Elements: Our team expertly supplied and installed precast panels, kerbing, and culvert drains, ensuring precision and quality. Resolved Challenges Despite several challenges, Comiskey’s delivered outstanding results by effectively addressing the following obstacles: Adherence to Shut down Timeline: We successfully completed all project works within the specified shutdown timeframe, minimising disruption to the client’s operations. Overcoming Restricted Access: Recognising the constraints of restricted access, Comiskey’s meticulously assessed structure heights and deployed appropriate machinery prior to mobilization, ensuring seamless execution. Timely Material Procurement: When faced with delays from the precast concrete supplier, our team proactively mitigated this risk by undertaking in-house casting of precast slabs. This strategic decision enabled us to maintain project timelines and minimize potential setbacks.
